There appears to be no end to the improvements and innovations that TV wall brackets have undergone over the past years. Starting off as a simple flush TV bracket with no other function except to mount the television on the wall like a painting, it has progressed into tilt, swivel and articulating features. All the prior models were focused on the wall. The corner TV bracket appeared to be closest to having one on the ceiling. It attached partly on the wall and the ceiling to provide the corner TV bracket facility. It was considered a great breakthrough in design and functionality since the corner is envisioned to be the most unused portion of the wall. It showed great potential since viewing was possible in almost every part of the room. It became a challenge to designers and manufacturers to discover something better than a corner TV bracket. The latest model is the ceiling TV bracket which appeals to the individual as well as a group. For individual viewing experiences, visualize a person lying down and watching a television set hanging from the ceiling. In that aspect, the ceiling TV bracket seems to be more of a personal item, allowing the person to watch the television program while lying down in bed. Some studies show many people tend to fall asleep while watching television, and to address that issue, people have brought the television into their bedrooms. And taking it a step further, it seems convenient to watch the television while relaxed in bed.
The ceiling TV brackets have a long arm attached to it which allows you to watch the TV at your eye level. They are fairly easy to install. Don't depend on the ceiling to hold the weight of the television. Similar to attaching TV wall brackets to a wall, you need to find a joist or beam on the ceiling that can be used to screw the brackets onto. You can use a stud finder to find the joist. If the joist is not in your desired location, keep moving the stud finder until you find the joist. Don't worry about your viewing pleasure as the long arm on the TV bracket will help ensure the television will be set at your desired position. Detach the arm of the ceiling TV wall bracket by unscrewing the holding screws. This also makes the TV brackets lighter and easier to hold. Detaching the arm also permits you to mount one end at the ceiling and connect the other end to the TV afterwards. Place the end of the mounting plate at your marked points on the ceiling. Lag bolts are provided with ceiling brackets. Use the lag bolts to fix the mounting plate by placing them through the mounting holes on the bracket. The back of the TV set and mounting plates should conform to VESA specifications. Check the VESA spacing measurement and mount the TV on the ceiling TV bracket by matching the holes on the rear of the television set. It is advisable to have a friend or family member hold the TV while you secure the bracket. Be sure all the bolts and screws are tightly secured and in place before letting go of the mounted television.
